Description

After a few months of waiting for an Eevee slot to open up, I can finally terrorise people with Malcom.

Name: “Malcom”
Age: Eighteen years old
Gender: Female
Pokemon: #133 Eevee
Height: 4'10''
Bodystyle: Skinny
Birthday: 2nd November
Home Island: Amusement Archipelago
Personality:

Positive -

Independent, inquisitive, cheerful, easy-going, diligent, modest, honest

Negative -

Opportunist, naughty, vindictive, superstitious, egoist, sulks a lot, self-centred

(Seemingly) Friendly and easy-going, Malcom is not a person who lets negative things bring her down. Her cheerful disposition is not wavering even if something doesn't go quite according to plan and she is one to always look for the bright side of life. An advocate of enjoying life, she is very diligent when it comes to things she is interested in but that results in her being rather self-centred when it comes to setting her priorities.

And that is an euphemism for: She is the epitome of an egoist.

Yet, Malcom has a naughty side to her which shows whenever she feels wronged. If someone slighted her pride or did anything to upset her, she becomes a very vindictive person who holds onto grudges for... a very long time. However, she is also a total opportunist so her revenge might not be carried out right away if it would result in a disadvantage for her. Of course she has her own mind but doesn't necessarily speak it when it's better to jump bandwagons which is something she has no qualms about doing. Though this does by no means imply she is a backstabber. Most of the time, at least.

Malcom is rather honest (though she would probably 'fail to mention' her tendency to be an opportunist) and also very modest, praise for her works is not something she expects or necessarily craves.

A realist through and through, she is not one to build castles in the air albeit being lost in thought very often. Her grasp of reality is shown by her being very aware of her own limitation and that she knows she will never be a top photographer.

Other people bore her easily and she tends to become very inattentive if they continue to talk to her.

She is also quite restless and not above blackmailing other people in order to earn some money. In fact, she is so corruptible, it's almost sad.

History:

A world of black and white.

She remembers her mother's laughter. She remembers dad's broad back whenever he gave her piggyback rides.

She remembers foreign countries, strange customs and old relicts they weren't supposed to touch. People with different skin tones and unfamiliar clothes, new sights and playing tag with her siblings on beaches, in forests or small villages. Scents and sounds. No colours though. Blazing hot summer suns and frigid winter winds.

All in all, it were glorious days of innocent youth that shaped her into who she is today.

Malcom had always been a bright and cheerful child. As the youngest of three little rascals, the young Eevee had been spoilt by her family from the very beginning.

It was a given that her older siblings would make sure she was tagging along as they explored new places, both of them looking after her to ensure their baby sister was aright. Their parents were no different, they loved the trio to bits and even though they had to be away for long periods of time due to work, they would contact them at least once a week while the kids were staying at either their grandparents' houses or were spending their time at their aunts' or uncle's places.

This all changed once the kids reached a certain age and their parents deemed it acceptable to allow them to join their travelling every once in a while.

So, during school breaks, the archaeologist and his anthropologist wife would take their kids to foreign countries and show them different cultures which had a huge impact on the little ones. Every moment of their travels was caught on camera and as soon as they returned home, the family would gather to learn about everything they had encountered during their trips.

Everything was great until Malcom's parents did not return one day.

Everyone had known that travelling through foreign countries was not the safest job to have. Old bridges had to be crossed, the excavation sites were known for safety defects and it was just too easy to get lost in jungles.

Malcom, on the other hand, had been unaware of those dangers. Her parents had just taken the kids to safe places so she was unable to grasp the idea of how someone could have gone missing.

Time passed. Many years, in fact. Her parents weren't going to come back. And strangely, after the normal grieving period had passed, she was fine with that. Because nothing could change the feeling of having been loved by them and the memories she had been allowed to make, all of them kept as photographs in various albums.

Plus, living with their grandparent's wasn't all that different from when they had been younger and the rest of the family made sure to spoil the three kids even more than before. With an 'Enjoy every day of your life' mentality, Malcom turned into the kind of semi-aloof kid that was well-received by her peers when she attended social gatherings yet also wasn't missed if she wasn't there. And even though her buoyant lifestyle made her happy, she had no plans for her future whatsoever.

Active when it came to sports and never seen without a camera, it felt natural for her to become a professional photographer who would crawl through the dirt to take the kind of photographies that would sell for tons of cash. But there were two problems: Even though she had good grades, the female had never bothered to make a portfolio to apply to university and was therefore surprised when she was not accepted. Another problem was her colour-blindness which had never bothered her until then because 'it was hard to miss something [colours] if one had never known what it was like to have it in the first place'.

Now, she had just turned eighteen and didn't know what to do with her life. The need to travel was urging her to leave the sanctuary of her grandparent's home, the restless soul she had inherited from both her parents told her to go and explore the world.

Fortune appeared in the form of misfortune because her mother's sister announced her divorce all of a sudden and asked the Eevee and her sister to help her look after her children and her ranch during that war of roses of hers. Sadly, what the woman hadn't taken into account were two bickering siblings joining her. Without their brother (who was staying with their grandparents) to pacify them, Malcom and her sister started to have arguments as soon as they moved in with their aunt.

In the end, her older sister decided to stay with her aunt and support her while Malcom was told to find something to do in her life. Indignant, the Eevee left the house and is now living in her aunt's little camper van, far away from the ranch though she visits them whenever she needs something.

In order to prove her sister wrong and pursue the dream of becoming a professional photographer one day, the young female altered one of the unused sheds of the farm to set up (the poor version of) a photography business, hoping she can expand it once she has earned some money. And she wants to earn a lot of money...

Job: Photographer
Shop Name: Greyscale

Stock type: Photo sessions and photographs of all kinds, from pre-shot landscapes to arranged family photo sessions. Your lover is cheating on you and you need evidence? She might even do that for the right amount of money.

Purchasable equipment for photography will come with future upgrades.
Dog Race: Furfrou
Dog's Name: Lucille

Pet Gender: Female

Used to beauty treatments and flashy accessories, Lucille is the kind of canine that is meant to live in a metropolis. A pedigree dog, purebred of course, who looks down on other animals of lesser lineage. Her life of luxury found its end when her owner, Malcom's sister, decided to give her to her little sister so there was at least someone to look after her. Too bad, this sassy and aloof Furfrou has no intentions of getting dirty by running after its new owner whenever she goes on photography safaris.

Or so she thought...

Funfacts:

:bulletblack: Colour-blind (monochromacy, achromatopsia - "total colour blindness"): Most of her photographs are black 'n white (not like it makes a difference to her) because she wants to show people the beauty of the world she sees;
With her brother being colour-blind as well, they have to rely on the wardrobe arrangement of their sister as she has sewed little labels with colour names into their clothes and told both of them which colours go together

:bulletwhite: Photography: She collects cameras and never leaves the house without some sort of camera

:bulletblack: Family: Loves her grandparents and older brother. Doesn't get along with her sister anymore: They have different point of views regarding most things but deeply care for each other. Yet, due to the former, they bicker a lot. Her sister is also the one who has a hard time accepting their parent's disappearance

:bulletwhite: Restlessness: She is very active and shares the need to travel all the time with her parents who loved to be away and explore the world (which is probably not the best characteristic for someone with a family)

:bulletblack: Interests: She has many interest. MANY. However, she is not one to pursue most of them for a long time. Very interested in creepy and scary stuff: Witchcraft, fortune-telling, ghosts (has no sixth sense or such though) and cooking (collects cooking recipes from all over the world)

:bulletwhite: Self-awareness: Her moles don't bother her much even though her sister constantly teases her about them. In fact, it's her skin which gnaws on her confidence because it tans super easily if she spends some time outside even though she just wants to have porcelain white skin

:bulletblack: Future: Her totem (Eevee) reflects her inability to plan a future and she is overwhelmed by all the potential evolutions she could choose. Her evolution will depend on the people she meets and how they'll shape her

:bulletwhite: Odd things: Strange affinity to forests, ice and water. 'Malcom' might not be her real name.

:bulletblack: Fashion: Only wears shorts because she is crawling around on her knees all the time in order to take good photographs and a lot of trousers have fallen victim to that. Skirts are problematic as well because she tends to get stuck in scrubs and trees thanks to them

Talents/Hobbies:

Music: Great singing voice inherited from her grandmother who used to be an opera singer. Of course, she can't even hope to compare with her. She is quite decent when it comes to playing the guitar

Sports: Flexible and agile. Very good at sports, especially gymnastics which she started at the age of four. Can't play football/soccer to save her life though. Great at dancing that requires a lot of body moving → started with hula at the age of seven and still practices today

Cooking: Decent skills, lacks the experience

Creativity: Makes fantastic photographs. She has no clue how to use a computer however

Moveset:

Wish. Shadow Ball. Facade. Toxic.

I dunno man.
I don't know what took me so long...

SO LONG TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS GIRL~ :iconasdfghplz:
I swear, she's so bad she's good, and somehow with her, it's also vice versa. She just seems like one of those unhinged teens that just go everywhere they ever wanted and do whatever they want~
With that, she's adorably horrid- I love characters like that! She's indeed a bitch, but a BAD BITCH. HBIC= Head Bitch In Charge. UvU
Also, have I told you how much I need to RP with this cute little piece-o'-crap? It'd either go really bad, or really good.

Like, REALLY good. :iconohyouplz:
